Privacy policy

Last updated 7 October 2026.

This policy explains what data FiveDiffs (fivediffs.com) uses, why, and the choices you have. If you have a question, see the contact page.

Your game data stays in your browser

Your progress, streak, stats and light/dark setting are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them.

No accounts

FiveDiffs has no sign-up and never asks for your name or email address to play.

Advertising and cookies

FiveDiffs is free and is paid for by advertising from Google AdSense. Ads appear only above or below the puzzle, never on top of it. When ads are shown:

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before any advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time. Where required, you can also choose non-personalised ads, which do not use your past browsing to choose ads.

Analytics

FiveDiffs does not currently run analytics. If that changes, this page will be updated first, and anything that needs your consent will ask for it before it runs.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Sharing your result

The share button copies a short text summary (time, misses and hints, no picture) for you to paste wherever you like. Nothing is posted for you.

Children

FiveDiffs is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because game data stays on your device, you control it directly: clear your browser's site data to delete it. For anything else, including questions about this policy, contact us.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
